Inspire – High potential and gifted education (HPGE)

Students start school with different skills, interests and talent. At Lakemba Public School, we take the time to get to know and understand each of our students, and we work hard to support them. Every learner’s potential is our priority. Many students have high potential, and we help that potential to grow into something powerful.

There are 4 domains of potential:

What is high potential and gifted education?

Inspire – High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is our dedicated approach to supporting students with advanced learning needs. It focuses on identifying, nurturing and extending the abilities of high potential and gifted students through personalised learning pathways and innovative programs.

Our school embraces diversity and inclusion, ensuring that every student, regardless of background or ability, has access to enriching opportunities that foster academic challenge, creativity, curiosity and wellbeing.

Teachers employ effective teaching strategies, such as enrichment, extension and acceleration, and provide tailored, explicit support within lessons to stretch, challenge and inspire learners. Teachers continuously update their expertise through professional learning to meet the diverse needs of these students, ensuring engagement in learning.

Furthermore, our school offers a wide range of specialised programs and opportunities both within and beyond the school environment to promote excellence across the 4 domains.
