Moving to High School
At Lakemba Public School, we understand that starting high school is an exciting milestone for students and families. Moving from Year 6 to Year 7 can feel like a big change. We help every child feel confident and supported during the transition to high school.
High School Enrolment Process
-
Read the instructions about the Expression of Interest process. This is provided to parents in Term 1 of Year 6.
-
Submit an Expression of Interest online indicating the chosen high school for Year 7.
- High schools review Expressions of Interest in order of preference. All eligible students are entitled to enrol at their local high school. If a school can accommodate your preference, they will make an offer to enrol your child and provide you with an enrolment application to complete. Parents can visit online enrolment to see the status of your expression of interest.
-
Submit an enrolment application to the high school that has made the offer, within the specified time. During the online application you can upload all documents to support your application.
-
High school placements are confirmed (September).
-
Attend orientation activities at the high school you have enrolled in (October - December).
