Wellbeing
At Lakemba Public School, we believe that student wellbeing and learning are deeply interconnected. Guided by our core values of Respect, Responsibility and Cooperation, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where every student can flourish.
We foster respect by valuing the uniqueness of each individual and promoting kindness and understanding. Through responsibility, we empower students to take ownership of their wellbeing and learning journey. Cooperation lies at the heart of our community, encouraging students, staff and families to work together to support one another.
Whether your child needs assistance with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are dedicated to providing the care and resources they need to thrive both at school and beyond.
Positive Behaviour for Learning
Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) is an evidence-based framework that brings together the whole-school community to contribute to developing a positive, safe and supportive learning culture. We have clear and high expectations for behaviour and a wonderful reward system to promote positive behaviour.
This framework assists our school to improve social, emotional, behavioural and academic outcomes for our students. Our school values are based on Respect, Responsibility and Cooperation.

Awards
Students are highly motivated by our school award system. Merit Awards are handed out frequently to reward students for displaying positive behaviours.
Students can trade in their awards for the next level of award, which is very exciting. Students who receive a pennant, medal or trophy, have their names published in the school newsletter and they receive their awards in front of the whole school. Parents and carers are always welcome to attend the presentation of these awards.

Student Wellbeing and Inclusion Hub
The Student Wellbeing and Inclusion Hub provides coordinated wellbeing and inclusion support across our schools by connecting students, families and staff with appropriate services and expertise.
Through collaboration with school leaders, allied health professionals and external agencies, the Hub supports students and their families with complex needs while also building staff capacity to respond to learning, behaviour and wellbeing challenges.
Through coordinated referrals, clinical reviews and follow-up support, students and families are able to access paediatric assessment and wrap-around services earlier than traditional pathways, strengthening partnerships between schools, health services and the wider community.
