Stories And Highlights
There is always something wonderful happening at our school! We love celebrating exciting events, proud achievements, and everyday successes—big and small.
We also love involving our community as much as possible. Take a look at some of our highlights and see why our school community is such a positive and inspiring place for your child to grow.
Wonderful Week 10
Every term, we look forward to Wonderful Week 10—a special time dedicated to nurturing the wellbeing of our students, staff and families.
The week is filled with fun, engaging activities that bring our school community together, and it all culminates in a joyful family picnic where everyone can relax, connect and celebrate. It is a highlight of our school calendar and a fantastic way to strengthen our sense of belonging and support.
Walk Safely to School Day
In Term 2, we proudly join in celebrating Walk Safely to School Day. This special day encourages students and their families to come together, meet our friendly staff at various meeting points around Lakemba, and enjoy a safe, fun walk to school as a community.
Throughout the day, students participate in engaging activities that teach important road safety skills, helping them stay safe on and around our roads every day. It is a wonderful way to promote healthy habits, community connection and safety awareness.
Kids 4 the Planet Competition
Kids 4 the Planet is a significant event that supports World Environment Day and creates opportunities for primary school students to express their ideas for a better world.
This year’s theme, Peace and Sustainability, reminds us that caring for the environment helps create a safer, fairer and more peaceful future. This competition enabled our high potential and gifted Stage 3 students to engage in creative activities in art, writing, STEM, public speaking and videography.
Harmony Week
Harmony Week is a special time at our school, when we come together to proudly celebrate the rich diversity of our community.
We enjoy sharing traditions, cultures and stories, making sure every student and family feels valued and included. It is a joyful week that highlights the strength and beauty of our school’s multicultural spirit.
Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition
Our Stage 2 and 3 students engaged in this competition, which was an opportunity for them to explore ideas of multiculturalism in Australia whilst practising their public speaking skills and improving their confidence.
Four students will move on to the next level of competition, and we wish them the best of luck.
Refugee Week
We proudly recognised Refugee Week by hosting a whole school assembly to provide information to our students and community. It was an opportunity to reflect on the theme of 'A Million Stories' and remember that every person's story matters.
Students, staff and the community had the opportunity to write kind words and messages on orange ribbon that was displayed around our school. We also organised an engaging, musical workshop for our refugee students to participate in.
