Welcome to Lakemba Public School. My name is Jann Price and I was selected as Principal of Lakemba Public School at the beginning of the 2014 school year.
I feel very privileged to be the principal of the school and am very committed to ensuring that our students are at the centre of everything we do.
We are living in a time of incredible educational reform and technological change. I am passionate about inspiring my team of teachers to ensure that we prepare our students to live fulfilling, productive and responsible lives. As 21st century citizens we want them to be successful, confident, creative, active and informed individuals.
The programs that are implemented in classrooms at Lakemba Public School are based on current research and evidence based practice. Our work in this area has been recognised and filmed by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL). In 2013 we were also recognised by the director for 'our teacher professional learning program'. The national partnership funding (from 2011 to 2014) has supported our school and allowed us to continue to build an environment of high expectations of both staff and students.
Our community is rich in its cultural diversity and provides exciting opportunities for our students to learn in an environment that promotes our school values of respect, cooperation and responsibility. Our on site School as Community Centre (SaCC) also plays an essential role in supporting our families.
As a parent I have a strong understanding of the issues and concerns that parents have as their children learn and grow into adults. I am a proud and dedicated advocate of public education and committed to ensuring that our school continues to prepare our students to be successful global citizens.
